Trainer of Shady Creek Stable, Katherine Hampton, has been involved in the horse world for over 20 years. She has ridden Western, Hunters, Jumpers, Dressage, Combined Training, Driving, and even racehorses - galloping, working and even breaking them. Katherine is experienced in rehabbing horses from injuries, and love to work with "problem" horses and ponies. She has also worked at the prestigious Keeneland September Yearling Sales, Shown A Circuit Hunters, and ridden and trained with some pretty amazing "Big Name" trainers. However her greatest teachers over the years have always been the horses. Her varied riding career has given her quite a big bag of tricks. Instead of being a follower of one big name trainer, or horse whisperer, or whoever, she rides and trains according to each individual horse - and situation. She still enjoys riding hunters, jumping, and trail riding, with her biggest passion still being starting youngsters, retraining Off The Track TB's, and "problem" horses.

Lessons are available in 1 Hour Private, 1 hour Semi-Private, 1 hour Group, and even Family/sibling lessons. Beginner lessons include learning how to groom and tack up the horse with aprox 45 min of riding time. Intermediate level lessons and above are all while mounted. Group lessons are only offered to a rider who can ride solidly at a walk and trot, and who has cantered at least once. Safety is a priority with all students all within a fun, family atmosphere.
